From March 23 to 25, 2026, researchers from more than 45 countries gathered at Delft University of Technology for the “International Conference on Resilient Systems” (ICRS) to exchange ideas and present research on resilient systems. DiReX and emergenCITY researchers were also represented with seven contributions.

“Resilience in an Age of Disruption” – the title of this year’s ICRS reflects the growing urgency of resilience research. The international conference is among the leading interdisciplinary conferences in the field of resilient systems research, featuring 200 accepted contributions. This year, it was primarily organized by the 4TU Centre for Resilience Engineering in the Netherlands, which includes TU Delft.

The Singapore-ETH Centre, ETH Zurich, Technical University of Darmstadt, and the DLR Institute for the Protection of Terrestrial Infrastructures were also involved in organizing the conference. Since 2024, Christian Reuter, Deputy Coordinator of the LOEWE Center emergenCITY, and Max Mühlhäuser, Distinguished Emeritus at emergenCITY, have served on the scientific organizing committee of the ICRS.
